How to choose a Texecom system
Security grade. Grade 2 is typical for homes and lower-risk businesses; Grade 3 for higher-risk premises. A system is only as high as its lowest-graded component.
Zones and areas. Size the panel to your detector count plus room to expand.
Wired, wireless or hybrid. Choose a wired Premier Elite panel, the 64-W for fully wireless, or add Ricochet expanders to a wired panel.
Connectivity. Add a SmartCom for app control and remote servicing; choose 4G where there is no reliable internet.
Texecom is a UK manufacturer based in Haslingden, Lancashire, and Premier Elite is widely fitted by professional installers. Panels are graded to EN 50131 and PD 6662, so you can match the system to the risk.
What is the difference between the Premier Elite 24, 48, 88, 168 and 640?
Mainly capacity. The 24 supports up to 24 zones, 2 areas and 25 users; the 48 has 48 zones, 4 areas and 50 users; the 88 has 88 zones, 8 areas and 100 users; the 168 has 168 zones, 16 areas and 200 users; and the 640 has 640 zones, 64 areas and 1,000 users.
What do I need to use Texecom Connect?
A Premier Elite panel (firmware V4 or later) fitted with a SmartCom Ethernet & WiFi or SmartCom 4G communicator. The user then controls the system and receives notifications in the Texecom Connect app.
Can I add wireless devices to a wired Texecom panel?
Yes. The Ricochet 8XP-W and 32XP-W expanders add wireless zones to Premier Elite panels. The 32 zone hybrid kit pairs a Premier Elite 48 with a 32XP-W.
