Buy multi-sensor fire alarms and detectors that combine optical smoke and heat sensing, and in some models carbon monoxide (CO), in a single head. Addressable, conventional and wireless models for commercial systems, plus domestic multi-sensor alarms.
Multi-sensor detectors we supply
- Addressable optical/heat multi-sensors – Apollo XP95, Discovery, Soteria and Orbis (such as the XP95 Multi-Sensor 55000-885APO, Discovery 58000-700APO and Soteria SA5100-710APO), Hochiki ESP (ACC-EN), Notifier Opal (NFXI-SMT2), Kidde (KE-DP3021W), Nittan Evolution, Gent S4-711, Zeta Infinity ID2, C-TEC CAST-PRO, Global Fire ZEOS and Edwards SIGA, plus Fike Multipoint detectors for Twinflex and Sita systems.
- Multi-sensors with CO – optical/heat/CO detectors such as the Apollo Soteria Tri-Sensor, Hochiki ACD-EN and C-TEC CAST-PRO CO multisensor, plus the Apollo Discovery CO/heat multi-sensor.
- Conventional multi-sensors – for zoned panels, including the Eaton 5 in 1 Multi-Mode Detector, Notifier 2020PT, Global Fire ZEOS-C-SH and models from GST, Aritech and FireClass.
- Wireless multi-sensors – Apollo XPander and REACH, EMS SmartCell, Electro Detectors Zerio Plus, Notifier Agile and Comelit. See all wireless fire detection.
- Domestic multi-sensor alarms – the Aico Ei3024 and Ei660i, FireAngel SM-SN-1 and Hispec combined smoke and heat alarms.
How to choose a multi-sensor detector
- Match the panel. Addressable multi-sensors must use the same protocol as the panel, for example Apollo XP95/Discovery or Hochiki ESP. Conventional detectors connect to zoned panels.
- Decide whether you need CO. Adding a CO sensor helps detect smouldering fires, which produce carbon monoxide early.
- Check operating modes. Many addressable multi-sensors can be configured for their environment. The Apollo Soteria SA5100-710APO, for instance, has five operating modes.
- Order the right base. Most heads are sold without a base, so add a matching one from our detector bases.

Multi-sensor fire alarm FAQs
What is a multi-sensor fire alarm?
A multi-sensor fire alarm or detector contains more than one type of sensor, usually optical smoke and heat, and sometimes CO. It processes the signals together to decide whether there is a fire.
What is the difference between a smoke detector and a multi-sensor detector?
An optical smoke detector responds to smoke alone. A multi-sensor also measures heat and weighs both signals, so it can respond to a wider range of fires while rejecting many common causes of unwanted alarms.
Can I use a multi-sensor detector in a kitchen?
Kitchens are usually protected with heat detectors, because cooking fumes can trigger smoke sensing. Some multi-sensors can be set to a heat-only mode, but always follow the system design and the manufacturer's guidance.
Will a multi-sensor detector work with my fire alarm panel?
Only if it matches the panel's protocol, or for conventional detectors, the panel type. Check before ordering.
