How to choose a Fike fire alarm system

• Smaller buildings: TwinflexPro² is an intelligent two-wire system in which detectors, call points and sounders share one two-core screened cable per zone, with up to 32 devices per zone. It suits smaller applications such as shops, offices, schools and nursing homes. A boxed kit is the quickest starting point.
• Number of zones: choose 2, 4 or 8 zones to match the zone plan. The repeater panel works with the 4 and 8 zone panels only (software v2.0 onwards), and the 4-zone panel can take the conventional expansion card to add four conventional zones.
• Larger sites: the CIE-A-400 is a 1–2 loop addressable panel for up to 200 Sita devices per loop, supplied with one loop card.
• Keep protocols separate: Twinflex devices (204- and 402- part numbers) only work on Twinflex and TwinflexPro² panels, while Sita devices (205- and 403-) need a Fike addressable panel.

Fire alarm design, installation and commissioning should be carried out by a competent person in line with BS 5839-1 and the building's fire risk assessment.

Is TwinflexPro² a two-wire system?

Yes. TwinflexPro² panels run Twinflex detectors, sounders and call points on two wires per zone, and come in 2, 4 and 8 zone versions.

Can Twinflex and Sita devices be mixed?

No. Twinflex devices connect to TwinflexPro² zones, while Sita devices connect to Fike addressable panels. Check the part number prefix.

How do I remove a Fike smoke detector?

Multipoint ASD heads lock into their bases and are removed with the Fike head removal tool (25-0046-201). Older Rafiki/Fike models need tool 25-0015-301.
