10 Year Battery Smoke Alarms

10 year battery smoke alarms run from a long-life battery designed to power the alarm for its whole working life, so there is no mains wiring and no yearly battery change. The range covers stand-alone optical and multi-sensor smoke alarms and radio-interlinked models from Aico, FireAngel, FireHawk, Hispec, Honeywell Home, Firechief, Espire and Wisualarm. They are quick to fit in rented homes, flats and outbuildings, and the radio-interlinked versions sound together throughout the property. Test them regularly and replace the whole alarm when it reaches the end of its life, as shown on the unit; our guide on how to test smoke alarms explains the routine. For hard-wired alarms see mains powered smoke alarms.
