Fire alarm detector bases for addressable, conventional and wireless systems: standard, deep, diode, relay, isolating and sounder bases, plus covers, caps and adaptors, from Apollo, Hochiki, C-TEC, Notifier and more.
Detector bases we stock
- Standard mounting bases, e.g. the Apollo XPERT 7 base for XP95 and Discovery, the XPERT 8 universal base (Soteria, Discovery and XP95), the Hochiki YBN-R/3 and System Sensor B501AP.
- Deep bases for side or surface cable entry, such as the Apollo XPERT 7 deep base and Global Fire ZEOS deep bases.
- Conventional, diode and relay bases: the Apollo Series 65 base and Series 65 relay base, the C-TEC ActiV diode base and Hochiki Schottky diode and relay bases.
- Isolating bases, e.g. the Apollo XPERT 7 isolating base, Hochiki YBN-R/3(SCI) and Nittan EV-B-SCI.
- Sounder and sounder VAD bases, including the Apollo XP95 sounder base, AlarmSense sounder base and Hochiki YBO-BS. More in sounders and beacons.
- Specialist bases and accessories: marine, heated, intrinsically safe (I.S.) and wireless bases, plus covers, caps and adaptors.
Shop by brand: Apollo, Hochiki, C-TEC, Notifier, FireClass and Global Fire Equipment.
How to choose a detector base
- Match the detector range. Bases are range-specific: Apollo XP95 and Discovery heads fit XPERT 7 bases, Series 65 needs a Series 65 base and Orbis an Orbis base. Check the detector's product page.
- Conventional zones. Diode (Schottky) or continuity bases keep manual call points on the zone working if a detector head is removed, as BS 5839-1 recommends.
- Addressable loops. Isolating bases limit a short circuit to one section of the loop; follow your design for how many are needed.
- Relay bases give volt-free contacts when the detector alarms, for local control or signalling.
Why buy from JEM Systems UK
JEM Systems UK supplies genuine Apollo, Hochiki, C-TEC and Notifier products, all brand new and factory sealed, to trade installers across the UK. Part numbers appear in every product title, so like-for-like replacements are simple. Buy online with fast, tracked UK delivery, or contact us for help. Detector base FAQs
What is a detector base?
The fixed part of a point detector, mounted on the ceiling and wired into the system. The detector head twists into it, so heads can be removed for testing or replacement without disturbing the wiring.
Which base do Apollo XP95 detectors use?
XP95 and Discovery detectors fit the Apollo XPERT 7 base (standard, deep or isolating) or an Apollo XP95 or Discovery sounder base. The XPERT 8 universal base also accepts XP95, Discovery and Soteria.
What is a sounder base?
A detector base with a built-in sounder, and sometimes a VAD, so one ceiling position provides both detection and an audible alarm.
What is a diode base used for?
On conventional systems, a diode base maintains the circuit when a detector head is removed, so devices further along the zone, including call points, keep working.
