TDSi

TDSi is a British access control manufacturer, known for door controllers, readers and software used in offices, schools, healthcare sites and industrial premises. Its GARDiS range is the core of what JEM lists, and it suits installers who want a controller and reader set that scales from a single door to larger multi-door sites.

The collection covers several product groups. Door controllers include 1, 2 and 4-door units, some IP-enabled and some supplied with a power supply and metal case. Extension modules add doors or I/O, for example the GARDiS 8-input, 8-output module. Readers come as mullion and square styles in proximity, MIFARE and DESFire versions, with keypad and vandal-resistant options, plus desktop enrolment readers for registering new cards. Credentials include MIFARE and DESFire cards, proximity cards and key fobs, some printed with a logo and ID number. Power supplies and mounting accessories complete the range.

When choosing TDSi parts, bear in mind:

• The credential technology of existing cards, such as 125 kHz proximity, MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus or DESFire.
• Whether the reader communicates to the controller as CSN, Wiegand or another format.
• The number of doors and readers per controller, and whether IP connection is needed.
• Power supply capacity for locks and readers.
