How to choose a twin spot emergency light
- Light output: higher-output models suit larger areas and higher mounting positions; check lumen output on each product page.
- IP rating: choose IP65 for damp, dusty or outdoor areas; IP20 and IP40 models suit dry indoor spaces.
- Testing: self-test and addressable models reduce manual testing. Manual-test fittings are normally tested with an emergency light test key.
- Operation: most twin spots are non-maintained; see also non-maintained emergency lighting.
Positioning and coverage should follow an emergency lighting design to BS 5266-1 and your fire risk assessment, carried out by a competent person.
