Hikvision DVR Recorders

Hikvision DVRs (digital video recorders) record analogue Turbo HD (HD-TVI) cameras connected over coax. JEM Systems UK lists Hikvision DVRs from 4 to 32 channels, supplied for installers and trade customers across the UK. They suit sites that already have coax cabling, where upgrading the cameras and recorder can improve picture quality without re-cabling.

What to check when choosing a Hikvision DVR

• Channel count: choose enough channels for today's cameras plus some spare for later additions.
• Resolution: models range from 1080p to 5MP, 8MP and 4K. Make sure the recorder supports the resolution of your cameras.
• AcuSense: many models include AcuSense analytics to classify people and vehicles, helping to reduce false alerts.
• PoC: power-over-coax models can supply power to compatible cameras through the coax cable.
• Storage: check drive bays and capacity against your retention period.
