Keep Clear Signs

Keep clear signs ask people not to block doors, exits and escape routes. This range includes Fire Exit Keep Clear, Fire Escape Keep Clear and Automatic Fire Door Keep Clear signs, in photoluminescent, self-adhesive vinyl, rigid plastic and metal finishes.

Where keep clear signs are used

• Fire exits. At final exit doors and the area outside them, so that nothing is stored where people need to pass.
• Fire escapes and stairs. Along external escape stairs, landings and corridors that form part of an escape route.
• Automatic fire doors. On doors that close automatically or are held open by a release device, so that nothing is left in the way of the door.

Choosing a sign

• Photoluminescent signs stay visible for a time if the lighting fails.
• Self-adhesive vinyl suits doors, glazing and other smooth surfaces.
• Rigid plastic or metal is a better fit for outdoor use or areas that see heavy wear.

Keep clear signs complement the exit signs that mark the route itself. Browse fire exit signs, fire door signs and the wider fire safety signs range. Your fire risk assessment will confirm which exits and routes need a keep clear sign.
