Alarm Keypads

Alarm keypads for intruder alarm systems, used to set and unset the system, enter user codes and view zone and fault information. The range covers wired LCD keypads, wireless two-way keypads and touchscreen models from brands including Ajax, Pyronix, Eaton and Scantronic, Honeywell Galaxy and JCI PowerG.

Choosing an alarm keypad

• Match the panel: keypads are specific to the brand and often the panel family. A Pyronix Euro keypad will not work on a Honeywell Galaxy panel, and an Ajax keypad needs an Ajax hub, so check the compatibility list on each product page.
• Wired or wireless: wired keypads suit new installations, while wireless keypads such as Ajax Jeweller and JCI PowerG models avoid cabling in finished premises.
• Authentication: proximity keypads let users arm and disarm with a tag or card as well as a code. Touchscreen keypads add on-screen status and menus.
• Location: outdoor-rated keypads are available for entrances and gates, for example the Ajax KeyPad Outdoor.

These keypads control intruder alarm panels; they are not access control readers. To choose the panel first, see intruder alarm panels and kits or the ready-made wireless alarm kits. Complete the system with PIR and motion sensors, or browse all intruder detection equipment.

Alarm keypad FAQs

Can I use any keypad with any alarm panel?

No. Keypads are brand and panel specific, because they use the manufacturer's own bus or radio protocol. Always confirm that the keypad is listed as compatible with your panel.

Are wireless keypads suitable for a wired panel?

Only where the panel supports the wireless keypad, typically through a compatible radio expander or built-in receiver. Check the manufacturer's documentation.
