Choosing a GeoFire Door Holder

Agrippa holders are battery powered and release the door when they hear the fire alarm, so no wiring is needed. Electromagnetic holders are wired to the fire alarm system and release the door when power is removed. Choose 24V or 230V to match the supply, a holding force to suit the door and closer, and a wall or floor mount to suit the opening. The door still needs a working closer. How does the Agrippa door holder work?

It holds the fire door open and listens for the fire alarm. When the alarm sounds it releases the door, which closes under its own door closer.

Do electromagnetic door holders need wiring?

Yes. Doormouse, Conquest and Universal holders need a 24V or 230V supply switched by the fire alarm system.

What holding force do I need?

Heavier doors and stronger closers need more force. GeoFire holders here range from 200N to 1200N.
