Nittan is a Japanese fire detection manufacturer whose Evolution (EV) range is widely used in UK addressable fire alarm systems. We stock Nittan Evolution addressable devices, EVC conventional detectors, Sensortec devices, the Evolution 1 panel and the programming tools engineers need.
Nittan products we stock
- Evolution addressable detectors – the EV-PY optical smoke detector, EV-DP dual optical detector, optical/heat multisensors (EV-PH, EV-PYH), dual optical/heat multisensors, A1R rate-of-rise and CS high-temperature heat detectors, and the EV-PYS detector with sounder.
- Sounders and beacons – EV-SDR and EV-AV2 sounders and sounder beacons, loop-powered base sounders, and EV-HIOP high-output sounders, EN 54-13 beacons and sounder beacons, with or without isolators.
- Call points, isolators and modules – Evolution addressable call points (including IP67 and isolator versions), SCI-6 and DIN-rail short-circuit isolators, isolator bases, input/output modules and a FireBeam Xtra interface.
- Conventional detection – EVC optical, dual optical and heat detectors, an intrinsically safe optical detector, a dual band IR flame detector and Sensortec conventional and addressable devices.
- Panels – the Evolution 1 single-loop touch-screen addressable panel and spares including the motherboard with loop card, PSU cage and enclosure parts.
- Tools and accessories – the EV-AD2 programming kit, addressing leads, universal bases, UG-3 duct detector housings, remote indicators, call point covers and reset keys.
Choosing Nittan devices
- Addressable or conventional – EV devices work on Evolution-protocol addressable loops; EVC devices are for conventional zones.
- Check panel compatibility – Evolution devices are used with the Nittan Evolution 1 panel and with third-party panels that support the Nittan protocol; confirm with the panel manufacturer.
- Isolation – plan short-circuit isolators or isolator bases so a single fault does not disable the whole loop.
- Addressing – use the EV-AD2 programmer and the correct lead for each device type.

Nittan FAQs
What is Nittan Evolution?
Evolution is Nittan's analogue addressable fire detection range, covering detectors, sounders, beacons, call points and modules on a common loop protocol.
How are Nittan Evolution devices addressed?
Evolution devices are addressed with the EV-AD2 programming tool, using the lead or adaptor that matches the device.
What is the difference between EV and EVC?
EV devices are addressable; EVC devices are conventional detectors for zoned systems.
