Lumi-Plugin Fire Rated Downlights with Integrated Fire Detection
Lumi-Plugin makes fire rated LED downlights that combine lighting with fire detection or emergency lighting in a single ceiling fitting, so a dwelling or corridor can be covered without a separate alarm body on the ceiling. The core downlight comes in 3000K warm white and 4000K cool white, with IP65 rated versions as well as IP20 and IP54 options. From that base the range branches into downlights with a radio-interlink smoke alarm, downlights with a radio-interlink heat alarm, PIR sensor versions, and a sprinkler adapter version for use where a suppression head shares the ceiling.
Emergency lighting is built into the same fitting, with living, corridor and flood optic variants in both colour temperatures, addressing the escape route and open area lighting that BS 5266 covers. For detection on its own, the One-Smoke and One-Heat recessed alarms are mains powered with radio interlink and a ten year backup battery, the arrangement used for Grade D domestic systems under BS 5839-6, and a matching radio-interlink relay is available for connection to other equipment. A version developed with iMist adds misting suppression with no water tank and 30, 60 and 90 minute fire ratings.
