The Hochiki DCD-AE3M is a marine-approved conventional rate of rise heat detector with a 60 °C fixed temperature element. A thermistor and linearising circuit give an accurate linear response, and a third terminal provides a remote indicator output.
It suits areas with medium ambient temperatures, such as drying rooms, or places where smoke detectors are unsuitable because of steam or cooking fumes, for example a kitchen. Hochiki's marine range is based on its ESP and CDX ranges and is approved for marine use by DNV under the EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED), for ships, oil platforms, offshore installations and wind farms.
