The DetectaGas® DG1 is a 250ml carbon monoxide (CO) test gas aerosol for the functional testing of ceiling-mounted, CO-detecting fire alarm detectors. It is designed to work with pole-mounted aerosol delivery devices, so detectors at height can be tested from floor level during routine maintenance and commissioning.
Fire-detecting CO detectors have a much lower trigger point than domestic CO alarms and respond instantly rather than after a delay, so DG1 contains a very low level of CO. It is not suitable for testing domestic CO alarms, which need the higher-concentration DetectaGas® DG2 kit. Always test in accordance with the detector manufacturer's instructions.
