The Zeta ZIS-OSD is an intrinsically safe conventional optical smoke detector for installation in explosion hazard zones. It is designed to detect visible smoke at the start of a fire's smouldering stage, generally long before open flame or a noticeable rise in temperature. It operates on Zeta fire alarm system detector lines behind a suitable spark-proof separator and is fitted to the ZIS-40 base.
Key features
- Intrinsically safe: ATEX certificate KDB 04ATEX190X, II 2G EEx ib IIC T6
- Tyndall effect optical chamber measuring infrared light scattered by smoke particles
- Analogue compensation for changes in atmospheric pressure, temperature and humidity
- Built-in self-regulating digital system keeps sensitivity constant as dirt builds up, and signals when cleaning is needed
- Replaceable optical chamber that can be cleaned or replaced
- Designed for closed spaces where smoke, dust and steam condensation are not normally present
