The Edwards SIGA-OSHDI is an intelligent multi-criteria optical smoke and heat detector from the Signature Series, for Edwards EST4 (EN54) analogue addressable fire alarm systems. It contains a fixed-temperature heat sensor and a multi-criteria optical smoke sensor, and - unlike simple multi-criteria detectors - can report the heat and smoke elements as separate event types or together. For example, the smoke element can report a supervisory event during the day and an alarm at night, while the heat element always reports an alarm.
Key features
- Multi-criteria optical smoke sensor plus fixed-temperature heat sensor
- Heat and smoke elements can report as separate event types or together
- On-board sensors and algorithms compare readings over time with known fire signatures, helping to reject nuisance alarms
- Automatic dirty detector warning and sensitivity measurement reporting
- Signature Series intelligent device with on-board microprocessor (distributed intelligence)
- Self-diagnostics and history log stored in non-volatile memory
- Automatic device mapping by the Signature loop controller
- Fast, stable digital communication - shielded or twisted wiring is not required
