Automatic Fire Extinguishers

Automatic fire extinguishers discharge by themselves when heat reaches a set temperature, so they can protect enclosed spaces that are rarely occupied or hard to reach in time. Typical locations include engine bays, plant rooms, electrical cabinets and switchgear enclosures. This range covers automatic dry powder extinguishers and automatic clean agent extinguishers, including ceiling-mounted and wall-mounted models with thermal bulbs rated from 57C to 79C.

Automatic extinguisher types

• Automatic dry powder units from Firechief, CheckFire, Fireblitz, Jewel and Ceasefire, from 1kg to 12kg. Powder suits Class A, B and C risks and is covered further in our dry powder fire extinguishers.
• Automatic clean agent units from Ceasefire, Fireblitz and Jewel, which are designed to discharge a gas that leaves little or no residue, useful around sensitive equipment.

Choosing an automatic extinguisher

Check the fire classes on the label, the size of the enclosure and the activation temperature against the equipment's normal operating heat. An automatic unit does not replace fire detection or portable extinguishers that people can use on a developing fire, so confirm your provision with your fire risk assessment or a competent person.

Browse all fire extinguishers, or add fire safety signs to identify the equipment. Manual portable clean agent models are listed with the standard extinguisher ranges.
