The Apollo 53541-172APO is a long sampling tube for Apollo duct smoke detector housings (53546-021 for conventional heads and 53546-022 for XP95/Discovery heads), for ventilation ducts 1500mm to 3000mm wide. The perforated tube spans the duct in the airflow so that air is drawn across the detector head and exhausted back into the duct, giving early warning of smoke in HVAC ductwork.
