The Apollo ORB-OP-02032-APO is a non-latching version of the Orbis conventional optical smoke detector, suited to slow-burning, smouldering fires. Orbis optical detectors work on the light-scatter principle, measuring back-scattered as well as forward-scattered light for improved sensitivity to black smoke, and use algorithms to confirm smoke before signalling an alarm to reduce false alarms. The detector fits Orbis bases (sold separately).
Key features
- Conventional optical smoke detector, non-latching version
- Photo-electric light scattering with a chevron chamber, surface-mount infrared emitter with prism and solid-state photo-diode
- Improved sensitivity to black smoke and compensation for slow changes in sensitivity
- Extra confirmation of smoke before the alarm signal is given, filtering out transients
- Orbis range features include the TimeSaver Base, StartUp commissioning, FasTest maintenance mode, DirtAlert drift warning and SensAlert
- Wide voltage and temperature operating range
- Apollo 10-year warranty
