The Edwards 3-SSDC2-E is a single Signature driver controller (loop controller) module for the Edwards EST4 life safety control platform (EU version). It provides an intelligent interface between the 4-CPU-E and Signature Series devices, and supports one Signature data circuit.
The module has its own microprocessor to coordinate, process and interpret data sent to and from Signature devices. It takes power and communications from the control panel rail. It supports standalone mode: if the 4-CPU-E fails, the loop controller keeps polling its devices and alarms are passed on over the local rail.
