The Edwards 4-CPU-E is the central processing unit of the Edwards EST4 life safety control platform. It manages the data generated by the local rail modules and is the hub for system-wide network communications. It controls audio data and event logs, and it is the link to central monitoring facilities.
Two SFP slots take hot-swappable network controllers, so you choose the cable type at each panel: twisted pair, CAT5, multimode or single-mode fibre. Panel data, voice audio and firefighters' telephone all run over the same network cabling, with no separate interconnections needed.
Key features
- 16 GB of on-board memory for pre-recorded audio messages and the project database
- Holds nearly two hours of pre-recorded audio messages
- History log for more than 10,000 alarm events, plus up to 10,000 locked or frozen events kept for investigation
- Self-configuring IPv6 network with no need for a network administrator
- Supports ring, star, redundant segment and full mesh network topologies
- Two SFP slots for hot-swappable network controllers (copper or fibre)
- Meets Class A, Class B, Class X and Class N cabling requirements
- Optional 4-COMREL common relay card mounts to the back of the module
