The Kentec K14060 LCMU is an active end-of-line line continuity monitoring unit (6k8 version) for conventional fire detection zones. It lets the panel monitor the zone wiring and detect head removal.
Its sub-miniature, environmentally sealed design means it can fit inside the last device on a zone or in its back box, so no extra wiring point is needed. The detector bases need a diode in the breaking connection, and Kentec recommends the Schottky BYV-1060. Some control panels (not K3000 series or Sigma CP) also need a 47 µF capacitor across the detection line terminals.
