The Reliance Medical BS 8599-1:2019+A1:2026 Critical Injury Pack (part number 3225) is a bleed control kit designed to give immediate, life-saving first aid to someone with a severe bleeding injury in the workplace.
Standard small, medium and large first aid kits contain nothing that can stem a catastrophic bleed. HSE guidance now recommends that employers provide haemostatic dressings and tourniquets for employees with an identified risk of severe bleeding injuries, and that staff are trained if these are provided. The pack is designed to be issued one per person at risk, and can also be stored in bulk for drop/throw distribution in a mass casualty incident.
