The Xtralis VSP-860 Refrigerated Storage Sampling Kit provides a standardised way to sample air in cold stores and freezers with an Xtralis aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system. It replaces standard cone-shaped sampling nozzles at the ceiling, letting the sampling pipe run outside the refrigerated space and penetrate the sandwich panel, which reduces ice blockage of sampling points.
Key features
- ASD pipe can be installed, inspected and maintained outside the refrigerated facility, so contractors work mostly in ambient conditions
- Suits facilities with and without ceiling cavities
- Removes the need for expensive HDPE pipe inside the facility, heat tracing and costly access equipment hire
- Less prone to blockage from icing, and minimises the need for back-flush systems
- Recommended for areas with higher humidity, such as near doorways or around the perimeter of the facility
- Treated as a standard sampling hole in ASD system design (hole location, size, transport time and sensitivity)
- Kit parts: inlet funnel, inner and outer flanges, self-tapping screw, lower and upper tubes, socket union with flow restrictor and seal, and flexible pipe
