The VESDA OSE-SP-01 is the battery-powered standard power emitter for the Xtralis OSID (Open-area Smoke Imaging Detection) system. OSID detects smoke by measuring the attenuation of two wavelengths of light, ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR), projected from one or more emitters to an OSID imager. Because the two wavelengths interact differently with small and large particles, the system can tell smoke apart from larger particles such as dust and from solid objects.
The OSE-SP-01 has a built-in replaceable alkaline battery pack and does not require wiring to any other device. Each OSID system consists of one imager and up to seven emitters.
Key features
- Built-in replaceable alkaline battery with a 5 year design life
- Activates automatically when the alignment mechanism is locked
- Trouble LED warns 13 months before the planned battery end of life, and a fault is signalled once the battery has operated for 5 years
- Detection continues while residual battery power remains; a failed battery cannot cause a false alarm
- Horizontal adjustment of ±60° and vertical adjustment of ±15°
- Replacement battery pack available (OSE-RBA)
