The Ceasefire CF-000781U is a 9 litre low pressure Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) extinguisher with a red stainless steel container, carried as a backpack. A cartridge supplies compressed air that drives the agent to a trigger-operated gun, where specially constructed nozzles break it into a fine watermist foam. Nearly all of the mist evaporates in the fire zone, which cools the fire, stops it spreading and reduces flooding and other collateral damage.
The mist also acts as a barrier against radiant heat, giving extra protection to the operator. It is suitable for Class A and Class B fires and electrically started fires.
