The Edwards 3-SDDC2-E is a dual Signature driver controller (loop controller) module for the Edwards EST4 life safety control platform, EN54 version. It provides the intelligent interface between the 4-CPU-E and Edwards Signature Series detectors and modules, and supports two Signature data circuits.
It comes with two 3-SDC1 Signature device cards and occupies one rail space in the control cabinet. Its own microprocessor coordinates and interprets information from the Signature devices, and a standalone mode keeps alarms reaching the panel even if the 4-CPU-E or the loop controller itself fails.
