The Z40 is a surface-mount final exit switch. Its all-metal construction and security screws provide a high level of wear and vandal resistance. The switch operates as "normally open, closing"—it only closes/locks while the button is pressed, remaining open/alarm when unpressed. Wiring is completed on the internal PCB using four wire-clamping terminal blocks. Onboard resistors allow for the following configurations via shunt selection:
1k/1k
2k2/2k2
2k2/4k7
4k1/4k1 (Guardall 8k2)
4k7/4k7
4k7/6k8
5k6/5k6
Note: This switch cannot be wired '4-wire'/without resistors.
Two PCB terminals are dedicated to an onboard 12V buzzer. The connected I&HAS may control this buzzer if connected to a suitably programmed panel output.
Each unit is supplied with a suitable tool for turning the provided security screws.
