The Notifier NF-SIL-B is the Local Silence Button assembly, supplied with a wiring loom. It is a multi-position switch that allows sounder test and silencing, plus disablement of smoke detection with an indication of disablement.
Used with Type B dependency programming on the Notifier Pearl control panel, it allows a full BS 5839-1 system to be installed in all areas of buildings such as assisted-living retirement homes, student accommodation and high-rise residential blocks, where the risk of false alarms has often led to separate systems for each flat.
Key features
- Local silence: the resident can silence the sounders or sounder beacons in their own premises when a detector there has activated (disabled when the site is in full evacuation)
- Local disablement: press and hold for 5 seconds to disable detection in that zone only for a configurable 5 to 15 minutes, in line with BS 5839-6; the yellow LED shows the disablement
- Local test: press and hold the Fire Alarm Test button to operate the local sounders; they silence when released
- Works with Pearl Type B dependency programming for each flat
- Tests are logged on the Pearl system so landlords can check residents are testing their alarms
