The System Sensor BEAMHK is a heating kit for the transmitter/receiver unit of System Sensor reflected (reflective projected) beam smoke detectors. It lets the unit operate in environments prone to condensation, which could otherwise cause trouble or false alarm conditions, by keeping the unit slightly warmer than the surrounding air.
The heater assembly plugs into a slot on the optical assembly and connects to the HEATER pin header on the transmitter/receiver PCB. On conventional units, and intelligent units with the automatic test feature, it runs from the power supply already used for the beam unit; intelligent units without automatic test need an additional supply. The heater prevents condensation only and does not change the detector's specified operating temperature range.
