How to choose a Morley fire alarm panel
- Loop count: size the panel to the number of devices and loops, with spare capacity for future changes. The MA-8000 can be expanded with loop cards; the ZX1Se is a single loop panel.
- Protocol: check that the detectors, call points and modules on site use a protocol the panel supports before mixing old and new devices.
- Batteries: size standby batteries from the panel manufacturer's battery calculation for the system load.
- Design and commissioning: panels should be designed, installed and commissioned by a competent person in line with BS 5839-1.

Morley fire alarm FAQs
What are Morley fire alarm systems?
Morley-IAS is Honeywell's range of fire alarm control panels, repeaters and devices for commercial buildings, used for conventional and addressable systems.
What is the Morley MAX panel?
MAX is the Morley-IAS touchscreen addressable panel range. The MA-2000 has two loops and the MA-8000 has four, with a 7 inch touch display on both.
Which detectors work with Morley panels?
It depends on the panel and its protocol. The MAX panels listed here are System Sensor protocol versions, so check each device's protocol before ordering.
How often should a fire alarm panel be serviced?
BS 5839-1 recommends servicing by a competent person at intervals of no more than six months, with a weekly call point test by the user.
