The FFE Fireray 5000 Long Range UL/FM Detector (5000-046) is a motorised, auto-aligning reflective infrared beam smoke detector for the Fireray 5000 system. The detector head combines the infrared transmitter and receiver in one unit and projects a beam to a reflective prism; smoke in the beam path reduces the returned signal and, below a pre-set level, triggers an alarm.
In a Fireray 5000 system, one low-level System Controller supports up to two detectors, with a separate pair of fire and fault relays for each detector. Detectors connect to the System Controller over a 2-wire interface.
