OCT40S is a dual-tone sounder for use in a Grade 3 installation. A volume-adjustable entry/exit tone, fixed alarm tone, and strobe light can all be independently controlled by the I&HAS. All wiring is fixed on the PCB with wire-clamping terminal blocks, and the unit includes both rear (breakaway) and lid (microswitch) tamper detection.
This unit includes the smaller, 8Ω/0.5W speaker capable of producing alarm tones at 90dBA @ 1m distance. See code OCT30S for the 16Ω variant.
OCT30/40 speakers are designed to be wired to configurable outputs on the I&HAS, rather than directly to speaker terminals. If only speaker terminals are available, the onboard PCB may be bypassed with wiring direct to the unit speaker.
