Apollo XPander Addressable

Apollo XPander is the radio-linked extension to Apollo's addressable fire detection range. It adds wireless detectors, call points and sounders to an Apollo-protocol loop in areas where running cable is impractical, such as occupied buildings, listed structures and temporary accommodation.

Apollo XPander products we stock

• Loop interface – the XPander Diversity loop interface module, which bridges the wired loop and XPander devices and reports each device to the panel using the XP95, Discovery or CoreProtocol addressable protocol.
• Smoke and heat detectors – the XPander optical smoke detector and A1R and CS heat detectors, supplied as heads, with bases, with sounder bases or with sounder VID bases.
• Sounders and VIDs – open-area sounders in red and white bodies, and open-area sounder VIDs with red or amber flash.
• Call points and indicators – two XPander manual call point models and a remote indicator for concealed detector positions.
• Interfaces – single and dual-channel input/output modules for plant and ancillary equipment.
• Survey and addressing – the XPander Diversity survey kit and XPERT 7 address cards in red and white.

Planning an XPander installation

• Survey the site – Apollo requires a site survey with the Diversity survey kit before XPander is installed, to prove radio coverage for each device position.
• Check the panel protocol – XPander works with panels using Apollo XP95, Discovery or CoreProtocol devices.
• Choose device options – decide where you need a detector alone, a detector with sounder base, or a sounder VID base for visual warning.
• Address with XPERT 7 cards – the address is set on the card in the base, so it stays the same when a detector is replaced.

Apollo XPander FAQs

What is Apollo XPander?

XPander is Apollo's wireless range that connects radio devices to a wired Apollo addressable loop through a loop interface, so the panel sees them as part of the same system.

Do I need a survey before installing XPander?

Yes. A site survey with the XPander Diversity survey kit must be completed before installation.

Which panels work with XPander?

Panels that support Apollo's XP95, Discovery or CoreProtocol addressable protocols. Check compatibility with the panel manufacturer.
