Apollo XPander Wireless Addressable Fire Detection
XPander is Apollo's radio-linked range, built to extend an Apollo addressable loop into areas where running cable is impractical, such as occupied buildings, listed structures and temporary accommodation. Devices reach the panel through the XPander Diversity loop interface module, which sits on the loop and presents each radio device to the panel as though it were wired, so the system is commissioned and maintained as part of the wired installation rather than as a separate one. Radio-linked fire detection components of this kind are covered by EN 54-25, and manual call points by EN 54-11.
The detection line-up covers XPander optical smoke detectors, supplied as a head alone, with a base, with a sounder base or with a sounder VID base, and A1R rate-of-rise and CS heat detectors in the same options. Manual call points are available in two models, along with a remote indicator for concealed detector positions.
For alarm signalling there are open-area sounders in red and white bodies, and open-area sounder VIDs with a red flash on a red body or an amber flash on a white body. Input/output modules come in single and dual channel versions for interfacing plant and ancillary equipment, and the Diversity survey kit checks radio coverage before device positions are fixed.
