Apollo Series 65 Detectors

Apollo Series 65 is a long-established conventional detector range, installed in a very large number of UK buildings. This page lists Series 65 detector heads: optical smoke detectors, heat detectors in several EN 54-5 classes, and flame detectors, including marine versions and models with a flashing LED.

What is in the range

• Optical smoke detectors such as the 55000-317APO, with flashing LED and magnetic test variants. Smoke detectors are tested to EN 54-7.
• Heat detectors in classes A1R, BR, CR and CS, tested to EN 54-5. Choose a class suited to the normal temperature of the room. See our heat detectors for more.
• Flame detectors using UV sensing, for specialist applications.

Bases and compatibility

Series 65 heads fit Series 65 bases only, which are available as standard, diode, relay, end-of-line relay and marine versions. Orbis detectors need an Orbis base, and an adaptor is available to fit Series 65 heads to Orbis bases. Browse our detector bases to find the correct one.

Replacing detectors on an existing system

Series 65 is a conventional range, so detectors connect to zoned conventional panels. Check the panel maker's compatibility information, and do not mix addressable and conventional devices on the same circuit. For other models, see all smoke detectors or the wider Apollo range.
