MD601Ex Conventional Rate of Rise Heat Detector
The MD601Ex intrinsically safe detector uses two networked thermistors in a bridge configuration to provide a fast response, that depends both on absolute temperature and rate of rise of temperature.
This type of sensor reacts to abnormally high rates of change of temperature and provides the fastest response over a wide range of ambient temperatures. A fixed temperature limit is also incorporated in these detectors. In many environments, e.g. kitchens and boiler rooms, sudden, large changes in temperature are considered 'normal’. Rate-of-rise detectors are generally not suitable in these cases and fixed temperature static types should be used.
The MD601Ex detectors are designed to comply with EN 50 014 and EN 50 020 for intrinsically safe apparatus and are certified to ATEX Code: Ex II 1G and Cenelec Code: EEx ia IIC T5.
