The Hochiki FL-DF2 is the replacement dust filter (dust separator) for the FIRElink-25 and FIRElink-100 aspirating smoke detectors. The dust separator is the only part of these detectors that may need replacing in the field during servicing.
Separator condition can be checked with the Dust Separator test in the remote software, which gives a percentage efficiency reading. When it drops to 80% the detector signals a fault. Hochiki recommends changing separators at intervals of no more than 3 years, then putting the detector into FastLearn mode to reset the filter reading. Suitable masks and protective clothing should be worn when changing filters.
