Li-ion Tamer LT-SEN-M3 Sensor Monitoring LT Gen 3

The LT-SEN-M3 is the monitoring sensor for the Li-ion Tamer GEN 3 lithium-ion battery off-gas detection system. Mounted on or near battery racks, it detects the electrolyte solvent vapours released in the off-gassing phase that occurs early in lithium-ion cell failure. This early warning lets mitigation steps be taken before a thermal runaway event.

Key features

• Detects lithium-ion battery electrolyte solvent vapours such as DEC, DMC and EMC (FM 6540 Approved)
• Single-cell failure detection without mechanical or electrical contact with the cells
• Compatible with all lithium-ion battery form factors and chemistries
• Calibration-free, with a target lifetime of more than 10 years
• Built-in temperature and humidity sensors for environmental monitoring
• Identified by black endplates (reference sensors LT-SEN-R3 have blue endplates)
• Daisy-chained to a GEN 3 hub with RJ45 network cables, up to 12 sensors per hub
• Operation can be checked with the DEC bump test bottle (LT-ACC-TST)
• Not a standalone safety device: it should be part of a proper safety system
