The Z787 is a dual-channel Zener diode (shunt diode) safety barrier supplied by Hochiki for its intrinsically safe conventional range. It limits the energy entering a hazardous area so that I.S. detectors and call points, such as the SOC-E-IS, DCD-1E-IS and CCP-E-IS, can be used safely there.
One channel is used for the zone wiring and the second for 24 V (sounders/beacons, or power for flame detectors, not zone wiring). The barrier mounts on standard DIN top-hat rail and, being a Zener barrier, must be earthed.
