The Hochiki FL-45ER is a red 45 degree elbow from the FIRElink range of sampling pipe, fittings and accessories. These are designed specifically for low pressure / high flow rate aspirating smoke detection systems such as Hochiki FIRElink.
FIRElink sampling pipe and fittings are made from red ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), chosen because it is easy to install and offers excellent rigidity, chemical resistance, impact strength and weather resistance. Hochiki's pipe network guidance uses 45° bends for bridging obstructions or making adjustments to the sampling pipe route. Joints in the sampling pipe network should be permanent and airtight, so each joint is cemented with an ABS jointing compound (not at the tapered detector inlets, which take the pipe with a firm twist).
