Weatherproof Call Points

Weatherproof manual call points for external walls, car parks, plant areas and other damp or dusty locations where a standard indoor unit would not last. The range includes addressable, conventional, wireless and marine-approved models, with isolating versions and intrinsically safe options for hazardous areas.

Choosing a weatherproof call point

• IP rating. Check the ingress protection on the datasheet. Weatherproof models are commonly rated IP65 or IP67, while some indoor-style units carry a lower rating suited only to damp areas.
• Protocol. Addressable call points must match the panel protocol, such as Apollo, Hochiki ESP or Nittan, and you should not mix protocols on one loop. Conventional models connect to zoned panels.
• Element type. Both resettable and break glass elements are available. Break glass types need replacement glass after operation.
• Standards. Call points are covered by EN 54-11, and BS 5839-1 recommends no more than 45 m of travel to the nearest call point, or 25 m in some higher-risk areas.
