LINIAN

LINIAN makes fire-rated cable clips that fix fire alarm, emergency lighting and other cables securely, so they stay supported during a fire instead of falling and blocking escape routes. We stock the LINIAN FireClip, SuperClip and NanoClip ranges, twin and earth clips and cable tie packs in a choice of sizes and colours.

LINIAN clips we stock

• FireClip – single FireClips for 4-6mm, 6-8mm, 9-11mm and 11-14mm cables, and double FireClips for two 6-8mm or 9-11mm cables, in red, white and black (plus galvanised 9-11mm double), in packs of 100.
• SuperClip – SuperClips for larger cables from 12-14mm up to 23-25mm, in red, white, black and galvanised, in packs of 25.
• NanoClip – NanoClips for small 2mm and 3mm cables, in white or black.
• Twin and earth clips – twin and earth clips for 1mm to 10mm cable, in grey or white, in packs of 100.
• Cable tie packs – a FireClip and steel cable tie pack and a SuperStrength cable tie pack with SuperClips.

How to choose LINIAN clips

• Measure the cable – pick the clip range that matches the cable's outside diameter, not its conductor size.
• Single or double – double FireClips hold two cables side by side on a single fixing.
• Colour – red is common for fire alarm cable; white, black and galvanised finishes suit other cable colours and backgrounds.
• Fixings – use fixings suitable for the substrate so the whole support stays in place in a fire.

Fire alarm cabling guidance in BS 5839-1 and the wiring regulations in BS 7671 both expect cables to be supported so they will not collapse prematurely in a fire. Plastic clips or trunking should not be the only means of support on these routes.

LINIAN FAQs

What is a LINIAN FireClip?

A fire-rated cable clip designed to keep cables supported in a fire, available in single and double versions for common fire alarm cable sizes.

Do fire alarm cables need metal clips?

Cable supports must not fail early in a fire, so plastic-only fixings are not acceptable on their own. Fire-rated clips such as FireClip are a common solution.

What size FireClip do I need?

Match the clip to the cable's outside diameter: for example a 6-8mm FireClip for cables in that range.
