The Xtralis VESDA VHX-1310 is a wall-mounted Open Protocol High Level Interface (HLI) in a metal box, using the master-slave model. It links a VESDAnet network with PC monitoring software, building management systems (BMS) or fire alarm control panels (the "host"). In the master-slave model the host polls the HLI for changes in detector status and the HLI sends a single response to each poll, so no unsolicited messages are sent. Its built-in VESDAnet interface means no separate VESDAnet socket module is needed.
Key features
- Master-slave Open Protocol communication over RS-232
- Built-in VESDAnet interface; wall-mounted metal enclosure
- Reports detector type, alarm status (Alert, Action, Fire 1, Fire 2), fault status, isolate/normalising/AutoLearn/scanning status, smoke level and fault details
- Detector controls: reset, isolate, silence, test, scan or normalise, plus day/night threshold configuration
- Recommended by Xtralis for secondary monitoring; for primary reporting the HLI must be integrated and approved/listed with the relevant fire panel or reporting system
