2-Wire Fire Alarm Panels

2-wire fire alarm panels are a variation on conventional panels in which detectors and sounders share the same pair of cables on each zone. Fewer cable runs can simplify installation and can make upgrades of older systems easier, because separate sounder circuits are not needed.

This range collects 2-wire, BiWire and twin wire conventional panels from brands including C-TEC, Kentec, HAES, Zeta and Eaton, in a range of zone counts. Zone counts are shown in each product title.

Things to check

• Compatible devices: 2-wire panels are designed to work with specific detectors and sounders, so check manufacturer compatibility before you order.
• 2-wire or 4-wire: in a 4-wire conventional system the sounders have their own circuits. Both approaches are covered by BS 5839-1 when properly designed.
• Zones: choose a panel with some spare capacity beyond your current design.

You can compare these with the wider range of conventional fire alarm panels, or see the complete fire alarm panels collection. Manufacturer ranges include C-TEC and HAES. Panels should be installed and commissioned by a competent person in line with BS 5839-1.
