Emergency Amenity Lights

Emergency amenity lights combine everyday decorative lighting with an emergency function. They are used in entrances, reception areas, corridors, bathrooms and other amenity spaces where a plain bulkhead would look out of place. When the mains supply fails, the fitting continues to light from its internal battery.

Amenity lights in this range

This range covers the BLE circular and square amenity luminaires, including the Oxley, Endcliffe, Whirlow, Dore and Chelsea families. Most are 15W LED fittings, and IP ratings vary by model from IP20 to IP65, so check the product page against the room it will be installed in. Many models are available in white or black, and some offer extra control options:

• Photocell versions switch the lamp on according to ambient light.
• Microwave sensor versions, including step-dim models, respond to movement.
• Self-test versions run their own routine checks and indicate the result.

Choosing an amenity light

Check the mode (maintained or non-maintained), the rated emergency duration, the IP rating and the finish. Whichever fitting you choose, the number and position of luminaires should follow an emergency lighting design to BS 5266-1 and your fire risk assessment.

For other fitting types, see our full emergency lighting range, or browse maintained emergency lighting and emergency bulkhead lights. More from the manufacturer is available in our BLE collection. If you are unsure which model suits your project, contact our team with the part code you need.
