EMS FireCell

EMS FireCell is a UK-developed wireless and hybrid fire alarm system that lets you add radio detection and alarm devices where cabling is difficult, disruptive or expensive. We stock FireCell panels, radio hubs, wireless devices and the aerials and accessories needed to design, install and extend a FireCell system.

EMS FireCell products we stock

• Panels and radio hubs – Syncro AS and Syncro AS Lite 1-loop and 2-loop addressable panels, including the Syncro AS 1-loop panel and radio hub, plus the 4-loop wireless radio hub for adding FireCell to an existing loop.
• Radio cluster communicators – 24V DC and 230V AC radio cluster communicators, including a version with remote aerial facility, and a radio network communicator.
• Wireless detectors – optical smoke detectors and class A1R and CS heat detectors, with detector bases, sounder bases and remote indicator options.
• Sounders and VADs – red and white sounders, sounder VADs and visual indicators for wall or ceiling mounting, plus a weather-resistant sounder kit.
• Call points and interfaces – wireless manual call points in red and Apollo style, dual input/output units, an auxiliary relay module and wireless door controls in black or white.
• Aerials and tools – dipole aerials, RG213 cable with BNC connectors, pole mounting kits, a radio hub programming lead and the FireCell wireless survey kit.

Planning a FireCell system

• Survey first – carry out a radio survey with the survey kit so device positions and signal paths are proven before installation.
• Choose the architecture – use a Syncro AS panel with radio hub for a new system, or a radio hub to extend an existing addressable loop.
• Plan aerials – where the hub or communicator sits in a plant room or metal enclosure, use a remote aerial and suitable RG213 cable.
• Keep devices serviceable – wireless devices rely on batteries, so include battery checks in routine maintenance.

EMS FireCell FAQs

What is EMS FireCell?

FireCell is EMS's wireless fire detection and alarm platform. It can run as a fully wireless system or as a hybrid alongside wired addressable devices.

Can FireCell be added to an existing fire alarm?

Yes. A FireCell radio hub connects wireless devices to an existing addressable loop, subject to panel compatibility and a radio survey.

Is a wireless fire alarm as good as a wired one?

A properly surveyed and installed wireless system can meet the same standards as a wired system, and is often chosen for occupied, listed or temporary buildings.
